INDIA: 45 persons killed and injured in fire
LUCKNOW, India (AP): A FIRE swept through a trade fair in north India yesterday, leaving at least 45 people dead and 160 injured as terrified crowds stampeded to the exits to escape the flames, authorities said.

UNITED STATES: Protests draw thousands for immigrant rights
ATLANTA (AP): DEMONSTRATORS TOOK to the streets across the United States yesterday in support of an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants and legislation that could give them legal residence in the country.


KENYA: Military plane crashes, killing 7 politicians and 6 others
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP): A MILITARY plane traveling to a peace conference in northern Kenya crashed while attempting to land yesterday, killing a Cabinet minister, two assistant ministers and four other lawmakers, along with at least seven other people.
