Cleansing of the Jamaica Labour Party
published: Wednesday | April 26, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

DESPITE THE negative press surrounding the recent departures from the JLP, I am thrilled that these events have led to the continued cleansing of the party. The departure, therefore, of those who seem to be more concerned about personal power and self gain is indeed timely.

It is unfortunate that bitter pronouncements in the media by the 'recently departed' have only presented their side of the events. I would like to hear the real story from their constituents.

On a more positive note, I congratulate Gregory Mair and Dennis Wright for their recent successes. I feel as if the tide is really turning in the JLP's favour. Positions are being filled by those truly interested and able to work hard for those they represent, the party and ultimately the nation at large. This can only mean better for all Jamaicans. With representatives such as Bobby Montague, Marissa Dalrymple, Chris Tufton and others, I see a unified party ready to lead.

I am, etc.,

NATALIE LAZARUS
