NATIONAL JUNIOR representatives Kaliese Spencer and Sherene Pinnock were in impressive form on yesterday's opening day of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Pinnock of Edwin Allen ran a personal best of 56.90 seconds to open Jamaica's account at the relay festival in the high school girls' 400m hurdles.
The 19-year-old Pinnock, a World Junior Championships bronze medallist, defeated Krystal Cantey of Winslow (1:00.05) while bettering her previous best of 57.18.

Meanwhile, Spencer, a student at the University of Technology (UTech), finished second in the 400m hurdles for College women in a personal best of 55.64, two hundredths of a second outside of Melaine Walker's five-year-old record of 55.62, set in Bridgetown, Barbados. Dominique Darden of Miami (55.60) won the event.
Holmwood (9:04.35) lead Edwin Allen (9:12.64) going into today's Championships of American 4x800m final.
In the 4x100m preliminary round, Holmwood (45.14) lead Edwin Allen (46.17), Manchester (46.21), Bethel (47.07), St. Andrew's High (47.08) and Queen's (47.27) in the Championships of America final.
Defending champions St. Jago (47.88) will run in the large school final.
Holmwood (3:36.08) led Edwin Allen (3:42.03) into the Championships 4x400m final.
