ON SUNDAY night at the 'Celebrities and their Mothers' concert, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller said she was the luckiest woman in the world.
Upon her arrival, she joined Shaggy on stage, the deejay serenading her with Strength of a Woman. She was then presented with gifts before Brian and Tony Gold paid their tribute to her.
Shaggy's performance proved a real tribute to all the ladies, who gladly ran to the stage at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Hope Road, St. Andrew, when he invited them to come near. He gyrated, much to their delight, and shook hands, at points nearly being pulled off stage. His performance also included Wild Tonight, Bombastic, Angel, It Wasn't Me and Sexy Lady.

Fanton Mojah and Turbulence also gave stellar performances, bringing the long concert to a strong close to the music of Gumption Band.
Though Mojah's Mama Hungry was well received, the crowd started screaming when Turbulence hit the stage. When he crooned "we've got the love" and requested the "name and number", the women went crazy.
Among the other performers celebrities were Christopher Martin, DiMario McDowell, Ninja Man and Yellow Man. The latter performed his latest hit, Orphan Boy, and his take on Blueberry Hill.
In the early section, dubbed 'young celebrities', the performers brought their mothers or a representative on stage. The 15 artistes ranged from the very good to the very bad. Either way, the mothers did not seem to mind.
