Chukking around GRAND TURK
published: Tuesday | May 30, 2006

TWO THINGS hit you about Grand Turk when you land; it's hot and it's flat! We don't even mean Portmore-type flat because at least they have the Hellshire Hills. The highest point on the island is about 50 feet above sea level, jokingly named 'The Ridge'. With no great foliage to provide shade, then you know the temperature rises.

But heat and elevation aside, Grand Turk is one place you must visit if you want to get away from it all. Approximately two hours from Montego Bay, Grand Turk provides that untroubled, small-island feel that makes you forget all your troubles for a few days. Already known for its dive sites, things have become even more diverse with the opening of the Grand Turk Cruise Centre and the operations of Chukka Caribbean Adventures.
