Church corruption

THE EDITOR, Sir: In reference to a letter of May 17 on Page A9 headlined 'Unity in corruption and confusion', this is a sad indictment especially where the Church is mentioned. For anyone to equate the Church with corruption and confusion is serious for the Church, if the allegations are true.
Alas, some are true from early days of the apostolic church; there was confusion or misunderstanding amongst the brethren. For this cause the Apostle Paul wrote " I beseech you brethren that ye all speak the same things so there will be no confusion amongst you," etc.
What is shameful, after some 2000 years, the so-called churches, not only in Jamaica, but in the bigger countries such as Canada, England, United States to name a few, all sow the seeds of confusion. Consequently everywhere you go in these countries you find different churches preaching the one God but different doctrines. This is not unity, this is confusion.
Corruption is mostly at the head, for example, the bible states a bishop should not be a lover of filthy lucre or money etc. Yet for the love of money they sell out Bible truth and sound doctrines. This is corruption. In today's world, we will find much unity amongst the lovers of filthy lucre. How sad!.
