Logan family gets an addition
published: Saturday | June 10, 2006

THE BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

BREAKING NEWS: When The Bold and the Beautiful debuted almost 20 years ago, it centred around the wealthy Forresters and the blue-collar Logans. The Logan family slowly left the show one by one except for Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang). Recently, Brooke's father, Stephen (Patrick Duffy), re-entered her life, and now her sister Donna Logan is heading back to Los Angeles. Previously played by Carrie Mitchum, the role has been recast with Jennifer Gareis, best known as the seductive Grace Turner on The Young and the Restless from 1999-2002 and then again in 2004.

Gareis has a physical resemblance to Lang, and I'm sure she's more than capable of wooing a Forrester or two. In fact, the character left town because of a failed romance with Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon). Gareis has kept busy with television guest appearances (Veronica Mars) and movie (Venus on the Halfshell), but it seems she was headed for a career change when B&B called she was in the process of getting her MBA at Malibu's Pepperdine University. Gareis will first air on July 20.

As one Jennifer comes back to CBS, another Jennifer is leaving. Despite being one of the most heavily featured actresses on As the World Turns, Jennifer Ferrin can give her tear ducts a rest since she's leaving her role of Jennifer Munson after three years. The character has been through a lot, with the loss of her baby, then finding out her baby was alive, and then her boyfriend being kidnapped. Now Jennifer Munson finally seems to be on the road to happiness, but Ferrin has decided to stretch her wings and explore other opportunities in film, television and theatre. The role will likely be recast.

Over in Pine Valley, Colby Chandler has been SORAS'd (Soap Opera Rapid-Aging Syndrome) from a five-year-old to a teenager and recast with actress Ambyr Childers. As the spawn of former devilish duo Adam Chandler (David Canary) and Liza Colby (Marcy Walker), the teen is sure to cause her father and new stepmother, Krystal (Bobbie Eakes), plenty of grief. However, there are no plans to bring mother Liza back to All My Children, as Marcy Walker has left acting and is now a children's minister at a church outside of Charlotte, N.C. Childers' previous credits include the David Spade film Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. The actress debuts on July 3.

IT'S A BOY! Congratulations to McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan Crane, Passions) and husband, Seven, who welcomed son Maddox Westmore Volpone into the world on May 21.
