Sting operations
published: Monday | June 19, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I DO not intend to oversimplify the issue of extortionism , but it can be dealt with easily.

The security forces need to get their own taxis and minibuses and set up sting operations, like they would do in the United States.

It seems very simple to me . The police must use marked money and officers from different parishes to 'operate' these 'taxis' and 'minibuses'.

They must have officers ready to backup these 'drivers'.

Mr. Lucius Thomas can contact the FBI for further details, if he wishes!

I am, etc.,
