Gunmen in Norwood area
published: Tuesday | June 20, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HAVE waited a long time for someone with authority to wake up and see what has been happening in the Norwood area. My family and I moved there six years ago when the area was just developing and people settling in. There weren't that many people as there are today and there was no crime either. I have since migrated abroad, but now in the process of trying to find an area outside of Norwood, Montego Bay, even to relocate my family, due to the high incidence of crime there and just merely living in fear for them.

These gunmen run amuck, threatening honest hard-working people's lives and the security system there doesn't seem to be able to do anything about it! It makes me wonder why we even pay taxes. Isn't it about time that people in Government/Parliament, stop living for themselves and start looking out for each other? What does the Government intend to do about properly developing the area so that a lot of these bushes that these criminals hide out in, can be destroyed and proper roads developed, so the people can feel like decent human beings?

I am, etc.,

D. SMITH
