DALEY
HE'S ON his way to the top! On Wednesday, The Gleaner published the story of Oral Daley, a 22-year-old college graduate from Snail Field district, St. Mary, who started his own landscaping company after being turned down for all the jobs he applied for after leaving school.
Since then, the young man has been flooded with calls from potential customers and persons proposing lucrative business deals.
"The response has been really overwhelming. I can't believe it," said an excited Oral yesterday.
Fed up with being turned down for jobs, Oral formed an alliance with three of his friends to form Royal Landscape and Agricultural Sciences. The company specialises in providing consultancy services to farmers and offers landscaping services to hotels and homeowners.
Oral and his business partners are all graduates of the College of Agriculture, Science and Education.
"I got a call from someone offering to be a part of the company, an investor. I've also received calls for persons wanting us to provide our services to them. It's been great," Oral said.
Oral has also been featured on talk shows and is now readily recognised on the street.
"People who see me on the street come up to me and give me encouragement and I really appreciate it. I never expected this response, but I'm really grateful," he added.
