Christine Hewitt killed
published: Friday | June 30, 2006

POLICE CONFIRMED late last night that popular dancehall promoter and public relations practitioner Christine Hewitt's body was found on the Mount Industry main road in rural St. Catherine. The body was discovered in a burnt-out SUV. The police identified Ms. Hewitt by her wedding band; they are investigating the death.

In April, Ms. Hewitt announced that she would be entering representational politics and intended to represent the governing People's National Party in the South Trelawny constituency.

Ms. Hewitt, a former host of Television Jamaica's Man Talk, was also known for raising funds through her non-governmental organisation, Woman Chapter 7, to assist persons in need.
