Daraine Luton & Keisha Hill, Gleaner WritersPOLICE INVESTIGATORS yesterday confirmed that the church deacon, who was present during the sexual assault of a schoolgirl, had a copy of the X-rated videotape of the incident at his Waltham Park Road, St. Andrew, house.
Senior Superintendent George Quallo, head of the St. Andrew Central Police Division, said the authorities recovered the tape after raiding the deacon's house. They also recovered several other CDs and DVDs, but were yet to find out if their content is X-rated.
Up to last night the deacon, who has been in police custody since Wednesday, was yet to be charged. Also still to be charged are the two teenage boys picked up by the police.
TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The police held the deacon and one of the boys, the alleged videographer, on Wednesday, hours after The Gleaner alerted them to the tape. The other boy's summer holiday was cut short when he was taken into custody Thursday after he had been called to school.
On Thursday, The Gleaner broke the chilling story of the 14-year-old girl being gang-raped by her schoolmates in a van driven by the deacon, who allegedly did nothing to stop the act.
