Condoms in prison
published: Monday | July 10, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON THE question whether condoms should be distributed in prisons, the reality is that homosexuality exists within our prisons and within our society. We might not want to face the fact, but that is the reality.

I do not support homosexuality and never will, but as humans, we have sexual needs and whether we are incarcerated or not, we are always seeking ways to satisfy those needs. Yes, it might be taxpayers' money that is supporting this immorality, but they are humans and they will find ways of satisfying their sexual feelings by having sexual relations with other inmates, whether male-male or female-female - that's the reality.

I support the distribution of condoms in prison. Many might not agree with me, including my friends and family, but I believe if this is a way of preventing disease. I support this move 100 per cent.

I am, etc.,
