LETTER OF THE DAY - Portmore should try car pooling - Advice from the Bronx
THE EDITOR, Sir: I DEEPLY empathise with the plight of the Portmore citizens who will now have to fork out extra bucks to utilise the newly-completed toll bridge. The reality is that the bridge has to be paid for, its construction has to be paid for...

Best female for principal
THE EDITOR, Sir: I was pleasantly surprised to note that it is Mrs. Margaret Campbell who is being touted to be the new principal of St. George's College. I too have been concerned that a woman had been selected to be principal of the school.

Pay scale and migration
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM one of the most patriotic Jamaicans. However, Jamaica's pay scale is so much lower than many of our Caribbean counterparts. We are a part of the CSME and it should be no surprise to our Government....

'Cass-cass' in the House
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM sure many Jamaicans like myself must be wondering what is the role of Parliament when politicians like Ms. Verna Parchment are allowed to use the space as a medium to vent her personal feelings, and involve in virtual 'lick back'...

Let's boycott Portmore toll!
THE EDITOR, Sir: INSANITY. THAT is how I characterise the toll for using the Portmore toll bridge. Could the minister and his Prime Minister explain to residents of Portmore and myself where we will find over $120 a day?

Energy-saving devices
THE EDITOR, Sir: I read with delight a few days ago that energy-saving devices and components are to be more affordable now that the Government has reviewed their tax status. That is great news!
