LETTER OF THE DAY - Rethinking the emergency response services
THE EDITOR, Sir: RECENTLY, I, like so many of my fellow Jamaicans, lost some friends and neighbours in a motor vehicle accident. In my particular situation it was a neighbour who actually died on the way to the hospital.

THE EDITOR, Sir: ON THURSDAY morning, July 6, my helper told me that an accidental fire at 5 Birdsucker Lane during the previous night had burnt out the homes of seven families, who had no time to save anything.
