In defence of the Government

The Editor, Sir:

People constantly and possibly quite rightly, call into question the integrity of successive Jamaican governments. In their defence, I would like to highlight that they are not immigrants from Mars. They are products of the Jamaican society. Is it not then natural that they should reflect the norms of society?

Maybe our nature is a function of the fact that we are mostly poor or just one generation away from poverty. How can a generally lawless and corrupt society expect to produce law abiding citizens?

Luke 6:41: And, why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother's eye, and the beam that is in thine own eye dost not consider?
