Six sporting personalities will receive national honours this year for their contribution to sporting development.
Former Jamaica Amateur Athletics Association president Teddy McCook will receive the Order of Jamaica for his contribution to athletics. McCook was previously awarded the Order of Distinction, commander rank.
Stephen Francis, coach of the 100 metres co-world record holder, Asafa Powell, will receive the Order of Distinction, officer rank.
Former national netballer Vilma McDonald will receive the Order of Distinction, commander rank, for her contribution to sports as well as for public and voluntary service.
Other persons receiving the Order of Distinction, commander rank, are Olympian Neville Myton, former national cricketer Renford Pinnock and Clement Radcliffe, president of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA).
They will be honoured on October 16 at King's House.
