For your information
published: Saturday | August 12, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

In reference to your article dated Friday July 21 titled "Portmore residents lambaste minister" at a meeting held on Tuesday, July 19, at 45 Passagefort Drive to discuss the roadwork on Passagefort Drive. As a result of misunderstanding on the part of your reporter, we set out the following facts:

The meeting was not arranged by the Portmore Citizen Advisory Council (PCAC.) It was ordered by His Worship the Mayor George Lee and, in his absence, Deputy Mayor Colin Fagan chaired the meeting. The association assisted in promoting the meeting and finding the venue.

We the association wish to disassociate ourselves from any lawless persons that were in the meeting or anyone who obstruct the progress of the roadwork.

Now that we have gotten some information on the construction of the road, and some of our concerns were met, we welcome the development of our community. We will try to assist in any possible way we can for the smooth completion of this project.

I am, etc.,

STEPHEN MITCHELL President, Passagefort Citizen Association

17 Passagefort Drive

Waterford P.O.

St. Catherine
