HAITI: Pro-Aristide activists released from prison
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (CMC): A Haitian criminal court has released four political prisoners, including a well-known singer Annette Auguste, for lack of evidence after a long period of preventive custody, their lawyer announced yesterday.

BARBADOS eases travel restrictions

BRIDGETOWN (CMC): Authorities at the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados have lifted restrictions which prohibited travellers to the United Kingdom and the United States from taking hand luggage into the cabin.


BERMUDA: Premier under fire for slavery remarks

HAMILTON, Bermuda (CMC): Opposition Leader Wayne Furbert has criticised Premier Alex Scott for making remarks about slavery during a radio interview on the controversial subject of independence for Bermuda.
