IRAN: Holocaust cartoons
TEHRAN, Iran (AP): An exhibition of more than 200 cartoons about the Holocaust opened Monday as Iran's response to last year's Muslim outrage over a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad in a Danish newspaper.

CHINA: Typhoon deaths soar

BEIJING (AP): The death toll from China's strongest typhoon in five decades jumped to 295 yesterday and was expected to climb higher as scores of bodies of fishermen and sailors were found at sea, a state news agency reported.


MIDEAST: Truce holds

BEIRUT (Reuters): Israeli forces began leaving parts of south Lebanon yesterday as a United Nations truce largely held for a second day and the Lebanese army prepared to move south.
