PIOJ points to second-quarter growth
Despite declines in construction and manu-facturing in the second quarter, the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), says that economy is on track, with real GDP growing at just under three per cent compared to the corresponding quarter last year.

Venezuela sells interest in Houston refinery for US$2b

HOUSTON, Texas (AP): A day after Venezuela's oil minister announced that the South American country agreed to sell its minority share in the Lyondell-Citgo refinery in Texas to Lyondell Chemical Company, the Houston company confirmed the deal.
