Where are the moral values?
published: Tuesday | August 22, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

On July 23, 2006, I attended Seafood Jamboree, an event sponsored by the 4-H Club in Whitehouse, Westmoreland. It was a fun-filled family day until in the afternoon when the dance contests began.

The MC lured small children to the stage to compete for some attractive prizes. The excitement and screaming from the spectators forced me to move to an area where I could view what was happening.

To my amazement, little girls about 9 or ten years old were on the stage doing the so-called "Dutty wine." Their actions were so outrageous and sexually implicit that an adult male ordered the MC to send them off the stage.

Has the Jamaica 4-H Club lost its Heart and Head to the Hands of persons with very little morals and values?

I am, etc.,

MORINE THOMPSON

Westmoreland
