'Bold and Beautiful's' Jack Wagner (Nick)
When Ben Hogestyn was named as the new Lucas Jones on General Hospital last year, there was a lot of anticipation, as the character of Lucas was being taken in a new direction - the teen would be confessing to best pal Georgie that he is gay. After the big announcement not much else happened, and Lucas disappeared like the fog off of Port Charles' shore. Since Hogestyn was only on recurring status, meaning without a contract, the folks over at The Bold and the Beautiful snatched him up for the contract role of Harry, and he will debut on August 28.
Harry comes to Los Angeles, where B&B takes place, to find Nick Marone (Jack Wagner, also formerly of GH), because Harry's father died during a tragic accident that took place on a Marone tanker in which Nick was the captain.
If the name Hogestyn sounds familiar, you probably know his stepfather, Drake Hogestyn, who plays Marlena's (Deidre Hall) flame over on Days of Our Lives. Ben Hogestyn's other credits include guest-starring roles on The Division, American Dreams and Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.
GUEST APPEARANCE
Before becoming a dreamy pop singer, teen Jesse McCartney started out on All My Children in 1998 as JR Chandler (the character now played by Jacob Young). In September, he goes back home to Pine Valley, but this time as himself, singing the title song off his new album, Right Where You Want Me, at Colby Chandler's (Ambyr Childers) sweet-16 party. McCartney's scenes will air September 8 and 12.
'AMC' BRINGS NEW
BLOOD TO THE TEEN SCENE
Just as the walls of truth start collapsing on Passions' Chris, actor Adrian Wilson was unexpectedly hospitalised, hopefully for a brief time. Starting August 24, Marsh Mokhtari will temporarily step into the role.
With his character's ignominious exit from Oakdale, Paulo Seganti's (Damian) latest visit to As the World Turns has come to an end.
Congratulations to all the new parents, as the latest daytime baby boomlet keeps the stork busy. Guiding Light's Bradley Cole (Jeffrey) and wife Yasuko welcomed their first child, Sean, on July 18, preceded on July 10 by Robin Christopher (Skye, General Hospital) and spouse, former Another World cast member Matt Crane, who added Gianna to their growing family. Skye won't be seen in Port Charles until the fall, when Christopher returns from her maternity leave. AMC's Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and wife Vanessa started the parade when their second child, Leila, arrived on July 6.
Bold and Beautiful's Jack Wagner (Nick) became the first non-professional athlete to win the American Century Tahoe Celebrity Golf Championship. Wagner, an avid golfer, has played in all 17 seasons of the tournament.
