The teenager who was arrested and charged on Tuesday with manslaughter arising from the death of Superintendent of Police Corneilius 'Calf' Walker, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
He is Davian Lawrence, 19, of Wakefield, Trelawny.
Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Gayle offered Lawrence bail in the sum of $200,000 with a surety.
He is to return to court on October 11.
Supt. Walker, who was attached to the Area Four Police Headquarters, was involved in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Port Royal and Pechon streets, downtown Kingston, two weeks ago.
Died in hospital
He died in hospital last week Sunday.
It is alleged that Lawrence failed to stop at a red light and his motor vehicle collided with the vehicle in which Supt. Walker and his family were travelling.
Lawrence, who is being
represented by attorney-at-law Peter Champagnie turned himself in to the police on Tuesday and was arrested and charged.
