Lack of publicity is hurting a star
published: Tuesday | September 12, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

Thank you for the wonderful article 'Maxi Priest gives dancehall his blessings' by Gordon Williams. I enjoyed his style of writing and the content and views presented on Maxi Priest. I have always been an avid fan of Maxi's since I first heard his Wild World hit in 1981 when I was serving in the United States (U.S.) Marine Corps. Maxi is extremely talented and has a very unique style that draws and keeps people interested and screaming to hear more. You don't know what to expect because Maxi is always trying and succeeding at new things.

My only regret is that I don't think he gets the publicity that he deserves in the U.S. This is the country that makes people huge at whatever they do, but if the public doesn't get the real message of their intent and abilities/talents, the artistes suffer. I still feel that Maxi should be hitting the charts in the number 1 through 3 spots monthly, but a lack of adequate publicity is hurting a superstar.

I will always be his number one fan who is praying for his continued success - worldwide. Please extend my thanks to Gordon Williams on a super article.

I am, etc.,
