Spanish Town, Edith Dalton lock horns today
published: Thursday | September 21, 2006

Howard Walker, Staff Reporter

GROUP B leaders Spanish Town High tackle second-placed Edith Dalton-James in a top-of-the-table clash at the Spanish Town Prison Oval in one of four ISSA/JN/Pepsi Manning Cup games today.

In the other Group B game, Norman Manley welcome Mona High to Tinson Pen while in Group D action Eltham High host Meadowbrook and struggling Tivoli Gardens take on Kingston High.

Spanish Town High, with 3-0 and 3-1 victories over Mona High and St. Jago respectively, lead Group B with the maximum six points ahead of Edith Dalton-James - on four points from three games.

The gold and maroon-clad Spanish Town should continue their winning ways against Edith Dalton-James.

Last year's beaten finalists Norman Manley are in third position on three points from one game. In their only encounter, Norman Manley swamped Donald Quarrie 7-1 and should secure maximum points against a weak Mona team.

Over in Group D, favourites Eltham High, in second position on four points, should return to their winning ways against Meadow-brook. Camperdown High lead the group on six points

Eltham started with a bang, whipping Tivoli Gardens 5-0 before dropping two points in a 0-0 draw against Campion College.

In a bottom-of-the-table clash between two west Kingston-based schools, Tivoli High and Kingston High will square off.

In three matches, Tivoli Gardens have yet to earn a point or even score a goal. They were thrashed 5-0 by Eltham, crashed 3-0 to Meadowbrook and 1-0 to Campion College.

Meanwhile, Kingston High, in their only match to date, suffered a humiliating 8-0 defeat to Camperdown. Both teams will be hunting their first points and it should provide an interesting encounter.
