Excelsior High to honour three
published: Wednesday | September 27, 2006

HUGHES

Alumni of Excelsior High School from as far away as Germany are expected to converge on the Ramada Plaza at JFK, New York, Saturday, October 14, as the Excelsior Alumni Association (USA) Inc. caps its year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the institution.

Award-winning journalist Cliff Hughes, who later returned to teach at his alma mater, heads a distinguished list of those to be honoured. Others include attorney-at-law Bancroft Gordon, and former track and field coach Anthony Carr.

The annual soiree, a fixture on the New York alumni social calendar for the better part of four decades, is expected to play host to a wide cross-section of alumni spanning different eras, and representing Excelsior's various locations in its 75-year history.

Arrangements have been worked out with the Ramada Plaza to offer a special discount on room rates to guests. Please contact info@xlcralumni.com or 718-251-9243 for more information.
