published: Saturday | September 30, 2006

Lamey ... scored twice against St. Lucia.

KEVIN LAMEY celebrated his return to international football with a double strike against St. Lucia on Wednesday night.

Lamey's double carried Jamaica's Reggae Boyz to a 4-0 win over St. Lucia in Group D action of the Digicel Caribbean Cup inside the National Stadium.

This performance has handed Lamey The Gleaner's Top Performer of the Week.

The 31-year-old Lamey, who led Waterhouse to the National Wray & Nephew Premier League title last season, netted in the 22nd and 36th minutes of play.

Lamey, who won a recall to the national team after almost three years, scored his first goal for Jamaica when he collected a through ball from Sean Fraser, which he dribbled pass two defenders before firing home from the right side.

Lamey added his second and Jamaica's fourth when he dribbled out of the visitors' midfield before sliding the ball past the advancing goalkeeper.
