Shame on you PSOJ
published: Monday | October 2, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) ought to hang its collective head in shame. Considering its silence amid the uncloaking of multiple incidents of the wanton waste of public funds that seem to assault us at every turn, as well as reports on the deplorable state of the KPH, its news release regarding the Blair/Holness contretemps amounts to sheer mockery of every Jamaican.

In order to detract from the deepening economic and social crisis in the society, we persist in straining at gnats, yet we swallow whole elephants. Failure to observe protocol is a relatively insignificant matter compared with the massive overruns, shameful neglect of the infrastructure and the callous approach of an administration lost in its own hubris.

The PSOJ's press release has only succeeded in provoking disdain and disbelief on the part of the public, as a result of their hypocrisy and lack of good judgement.

I am, etc.,
