Plea for help!
published: Saturday | October 7, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

My name is Monica Collings and I am letting my voice be heard for my sister and her 8 children ages 17 years to 3 months old, who are living in poverty since the last hurricane. They are located in east Kingston, Bull Bay area. They lost everything during the hurricane. They spent almost a month living in Harbour View Primary school.

They are somewhere in Bull Bay living in one little broken down room. If it rains they suffer because everything gets wet. The children are sick and hungry. They are all suffering from bad colds due to the conditions. There have to be some programmes to help hurricane victims, especially these kids. My sister was promised by someone who came to the school at the time to gather information that she will get help. Until now, no one has come to her or even thought about those children. These children are begging. Please, someone help them.

I am, etc.,
