BARBADOS: 'Show more compassion!'
published: Thursday | October 19, 2006

Bridgetown (The Nation):

REV. GERRY Seale is calling for members of the public to be like Christ and embrace understanding, compassion and forgiveness in dealing with those affected by the HIV/AIDS virus.

He said the level of discrimination and stigma in Barbados was born of an irrational fear.

Speaking during a church service for AIDS Awareness Week at the Church of the Nazarene, Collymore Rock, St. Michael, on Sunday evening, he said many people who stigmatised those afflicted and affected by the virus were being unreasonable and acting without reference to the facts.
