Six face court on joint murder charge
published: Saturday | October 28, 2006

Four men and two women who are charged jointly with the murder of investment analyst, Jamie Lue, and Aids Support activist, Steve Harvey, appeared in the Home Circuit Court yesterday.

Justice Marva McIntosh remanded them until next week Thursday to return to court.

They are Andre West, Dwyane Owens, Ryan Wilson, Lynford Allen, Trishauana Spence and Jevaughn Gibson.

They have been in custody since they were arrested and charged in January of this year. The case was transferred yesterday from the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court to the Home Circuit Court for trial.

It is being alleged that the two men were kidnapped last December after they made withdrawals from automated banking machines in the Corporate Area.

Forced to disclose pin

They were allegedly taken to Grants Pen, St. Andrew, where they were robbed of their debit cards and forced at gunpoint to disclose the pin numbers they used to make withdrawals.

Sums of money were allegedly withdrawn from the accounts and the men were subsequently shot and killed.

It is further alleged that the accused were members of a criminal network involved in the robbery of automated debit cards.

The six are also charged with illegal possession of firearm, robbery with aggravation, kidnapping and conspiracy to murder.
