PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):
THE NATIONAL Under-20 teams of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica will clash in a home-and-away series next month for the last available Caribbean Football Union (CFU) spot in the CONCACAF World Youth Cup qualifying finals.
Jamaica will host the first leg on Saturday. December 2 and Trinidad and Tobago will stage the second leg on Wednesday. December 6.
Both teams were forced into a play-off after failing to win their groups to gain automatic qualifying spots to the CONCACAF Finals in Mexico and Panama early next year.
Jamaica were unbeaten but placed second to Haiti - on goal difference - in Group G in Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago secured the runner-up spot in Group F after suffering a surprise loss at home to eventual group winners St. Kitts and Nevis.
The 2007 CONCACAF Under-20 final round will have eight countries competing in two groups, with Group A being staged in Panama from January 17-21, and Mexico being the venue for Group B from February 21-25.
Joining those host nations in the final round so far are St. Kitts and Nevis, Haiti, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the United States and either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago.
The draw to determine the teams in each of the groups scheduled for later this month.
