'We're well attuned'
published: Saturday | November 4, 2006

MUMBAI, India:

The newest West Indian bowling sensation, Jerome Taylor said that the team is completely aware of what is required to defeat Australia in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy tomorrow in Mumbai.

"We are well attuned to what is going on and looking forward to the game, we know what we have to do to win," Taylor said following the West Indies whipping of South Africa by six wickets in Jaipur on Thursday.

"It won't be easy, we will have to do the basics right, but to win against Australia would be good for us especially leading up to the World Cup," the 22-year-old right arm quick opined.

Taylor said that while the team is aware that they attract the tag of 'underdogs' it is something he would like to see changed in future.

"If the people don't think you're favourites then you cannot force that into their minds, but we are here to stamp our authority and let the people know that West Indies cricket is back on track whether or not they think we are favourites," said Taylor who took 2 for 48 against South Africa, including scattering the stumps of captain Graeme Smith at the top of the order.
