LETTER OF THE DAY - Why can't the Jamaican security forces prevail?
THE EDITOR, Sir: Some time ago, one newspaper carried a photograph of a policeman helping an elderly woman to pack her belongings into a handcart as she sought to flee a violence-torn area of Kingston.

Don't postpone election again

The Editor, Sir: The local government election should not be postponed again. It's time for all Jamaican citizens to go to the polls, and moreover, the Prime Minister of Jamaica needs a mandate from the people to continue to govern.


Fix the road, please!

The Editor, Sir: A bridge has been built near my home in order, the authorities said, to lift the road. Since then, whenever it rains, my gateway is flooded, sometimes to more than two feet deep.
