The Editor, Sir:
Voting on election day is the right option for those of us who are of voting age and are enumerated.
The people who stay home are really the losers.
In God's design for a nation, civil government is appointed and He places these appointees and legislators in positions of authority.
He holds these persons accoun-table for how they wield that authority. Evil must be punished and not be allowed to reign, and good must be condoned.
HIGH RESPONSIBILITY
We, the electorate, bear the authority of those appointments, the selection of those who will provide leadership within the civil government.
This is a high responsibility and we are by duty and obligation to act righteously with that authority.
This is sometimes frustrating, especially when we are faced with having to make a selection between two imperfect alternatives. But, my friends, that is always the case. No one is perfect.
So, let us spend the time and effort to determine which appointee will do the best job at diminishing evil and condone good.
Let us determine the one who will stand up and be counted, not watching any faces, but upholding justice and truth.
So, electorate, let us not stay home, even as the circumstances of our nation would persuade us to do. For to do so is to let the greater evil reign. Let us persevere and act righteously. For whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is a sin.
I am, etc.,
