DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Water-house are in cruise control heading into the Wray and Nephew National Premier League first end-of-round final following a 4-1 thrashing of Seba at the Waterhouse Stadium, on Wednesday night.
The emphatic win not only saw the titleholders secure their spot in the final but they also regained top spot with 22 points following Harbour View's 1-1 draw with Boys' Town.
It is the latter which was of primary concern to Waterhouse coach, Barrington Gaynor.
"We will still be looking for full points against Boys' Town, it is after all a league format, so the end-of-round final is not the most important thing. We want the league cup," Gaynor said.
At Drewsland, it was the Damian Williams' show and the 80th minute substitute really lit up proceedings with two goals three minutes apart, to break a 1-1 tie after Seba had come back from a goal down.
Williams, who came on for national representative, Demar Phillips amidst murmurs from several members of the Waterhouse faithful, silenced the critics when he rose high to head the ball past Seba custodian, Loxley Reid, with his first touch of the game.
Williams was again a sensation when he baffled defender, Iton Scott, with his trickery before cutting inside to blast past Reid from just inside the 18-yard area. Phillips had headed Waterhouse into the lead in the 53rd minute, before Wilfred Smith found Seba's equaliser in the 73rd. Kevin Lamey capped things off for the hosts just before the final whistle.
