G.C. FOSTER Strikers shot past Jetsetters C 30-10 in their JNA/JNBS Open League game on Tuesday at the Leila Robinson Court.
"The players are young and a little inexperienced for this level of netball, but with some more training they will get there," Jetsetters C coach Rasheed Josephs said after the match.
Despite the loss, Jetsetters C's defenders did their best in the circle and were quick on the rebound. They, however, failed to be consistent, faltering in the final minutes of the match as G.C. Foster made goal after goal.
"They played how we wanted them to play. We just wanted to push G.C to their limit. In our training we are just doing defence and aren't focusing on attack. But G.C. used a lot of players who were a little more experienced," Josephs said.
G.C. Foster's coach, Dana Crawford, knew her team had the advantage.
Found good combination
"The other team gave us a little competition, but it's a C team so we should have beaten them by more," Crawford said. "We are still working out some stuff. I think we found a good combination in the first half, but we decided to give others a chance to play. Some things fell down a little bit but we got back in the end," she said.
In other matches, Ravens C fell 37-9 to Tivoli B, Torrington Park beat Progressive Strikers 31-19, Jetsetters B scraped by Maverly 23-22, JDF ran over Ravens B 26-16 and Omega A scored a 24-20 victory over Eden Strikers while Friendship had a walkover agaionst Speg C.
The Open league continues today at the Leila Robinson Courts with eight rescheduled matches: Alpha vs Up Park Camp, Omega B vs Ebony Strikers B, Braeton vs Arnett Gardens, Ravens vs Greenwich, Skibo A vs Alexander Strikers, G.C. Foster Strikers vs Whitehorses, Duhaney Strikers vs Bridgeport and Police A vs Molynes B.
