The Amateur Swimming Association (ASAJ) received a boost through an $84,000 Porter Cable Power Washer from National Supply Company Limited, which will help in the maintenance of the National Stadium Pool.

"We are always more willing to assist organisations with a professional set-up and vision," said Donovan Chen See, director of sales and marketing for National Supply.

He added: "In particular we have great interest in assisting sporting and educational entities as best we can, therefore we didn't hesitate to respond to the request of the ASAJ.

John Eyre, president of the ASAJ, was thankful for the donation.

Generous donation

He said: "We are extremely thankful to National Supply for their generous donation as it has really lifted the maintenance crew to a new level. We are now operating with much greater efficiency and professionalism."

Jepheth Todd, a senior member of the pool's maintenance team, said the washer is a welcome addition to the swimming association's cleaning equipment.

"We used to have to borrow the stadium's washer, so we always had to wait at their convenience, but now we have our own and it has really changed things for the better," explained Todd. "It is also a better quality unit than the stadium's due to its versatility and wide power range," he continued.

The range of settings available on the new washer is such that it can also be used to clean the stands, the starting blocks, the changing rooms and the entire pool deck.

National Supply is also the sponsors of Jamaica Basketball Association top team Urban Knights and Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League outfit Barbican F.C.
