published: Sunday | December 17, 2006

Lorenzo Ingram and Danza Hyatt completed half centuries for Tamar Lambert's XI to secure first innings lead against David Bernard's XI on yesterday's second day of Jamaica Cricket Association's (JCA) four-day trial match at Chedwin Park.

Ingram hit 65 and Hyatt 54 as Lambert's XI replying to 243 made by Bernard's XI, closed on 263-6. Both batsmen, who are among the top scorers in the trial matches so far, hit five fours and a six each. Ingram and Shane Powell are the only century makers. Captain Lambert is not out on 48.

Earlier, resuming on 43-0, Hyatt and Ranville Brown, 18, took their team to 79 before the latter was run out. Hyatt was later bowled by Nikita Miller, who along with Andre Dwyer and Jermaine Lawson have all pocketed a wicket apiece.

Alton Beckford was the most successful bowler with 2-43.

On Friday's opening day, Brenton Parchment and Simon Jackson who put on 109 for the first wicket for Bernard's XI, got scores of 78 and 44 respectively.
