Monday Club's memorable mingle
published: Sunday | December 24, 2006

Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer

Senator Noel Sloley and his wife, Sharron, share an intimate moment during the Monday Club's annual Christmas party, at their Spring Farm residence.

WESTERN BUREAU:

Great conversation and a magnificent jazz quartet literally spoke volumes at the male-dominated Monday Club's annual Christmas party at Senator Noel Sloley and his wife Sharron's sprawling Spring Farm mansion, in Rose Hall, on Saturday, December 16.

Once per year, women are allowed to invade the heavily guarded networking group of men, and on December 16 they made sure their presence was felt. In fact, 'invasion' was an understatement; this 'must-attend' calendar event was oversubscribed.

And, a year's absence, because the Sloleys opted for Las Vegas last year, created an even greater urge to to be at this soiree.

The evening saw the band, 'Sound Energy', blazing the place with music, as Noel's specialities - corned pork, mackerel 'run dung', white yam and boiled bananas took their rightful place in the stomachs of many.

The night also saw the sexy and sophisticated Elisabeth Simonitsch saying, "I refuse to age," while Bohios' Chrissy Marzouca unofficially screamed, "I am a businesswoman with class, chic and style." The two stood next to The Event Place's Joan Lee who has mastered the art of elegance.

For the fabulous host and hostess, it was the perfect night to stare into each other's eyes and repeat the words, "I love you."

The Sloleys' home was transformed into a place of great cheer, warmth and joy, and the people who helped to make the evening unforgettable were Horace and Dominique Peterkin, Jackie and Nathan Robb; David and Sally Roper; camera shy Yvonne Pearson and her husband Peter; Basil Johnson; Carol Reid; Nicole and O'Dave Allen; Henry and Jennifer McCurdy; Nicole Thomas; Noel 'Sport' Sloley Jr.; Julie and Kumar Samtani; Lee Anne Marzouca; Vee Redpath and Richard Whitfield; Clive Lee; Indru Dadlani; Kishim and Shobhu Samtani; Neha and Rajesh Kriplani; Lyn Scott; Jennifer Hanna; Madge Levy; Joe and Pamela Hilton; Camille and Jaime Delgado; Sharon Austin; Sajan Moorajani; Mike Conway and O.K. Melhado.
