Expose those 'criminals'
published: Friday | December 29, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

I am doing well, and being concerned about the violence in Jamaica, my New Year's resolution was to set up a legal defence fund for officers charged in carrying out their duties. It now seems I was about to support criminals. Maybe I should now put that money towards helping the poor in Central America.

I thank you for publishing the article; however, you should take no credit. It is your duty to put more investigative reporters in the field and provide them with the technical equipment to expose these crooks.

They are Jamaicans; there is no such thing as lying low, they will show off in one form or the other (bank accounts, cars, houses, spending pattern, travel ... need I continue?).

Ease back on sending reporters on social assignments and set them the task of real journalism.

I am, etc.,
