The Editor, Sir:
Tuesday, January 2, 2007 ended on a high note for me as well as many who witnessed an act of selfless giving on Slipe Road in the vicinity of Torrington Park. There was this elderly gentleman walking with the aid of a 'stick', and when I say 'stick' I mean 'stick'. It looked rather uncomfortable to use because it had no proper handle in which to give a comfortable grasp.
A very kind gentleman who was sitting in the long line of traffic obviously observed the gentleman and figured he could probably make his life a little easier. He then pulled over to side of the road and retrieved a proper walking stick. He then ran to the elderly gentleman and gave it to him and disposed of the 'stick' that he had.
It warmed the hearts of everyone who saw it all and I told myself that this kind deed should not go unmentioned. Sir, whoever and wherever you are, may God continue to bless you and I am thanking you on behalf of the gentleman whom you saw it fit to help.
I am, etc.,
TAMEIKA WYNTER
