'Teddy' in demand

Jamaican international Jermaine 'Teddy' Johnson's future at English League One outfit Bradford City remains an uncertain one, as while the club is keen on keeping the talented midfielder, they will remain open to the right offer.

Since signing with the club on a one-year loan deal from Wray and Nephew National Premier League team, Tivoli Gardens, in July, Johnson, who has played as a winger, has made quite an impact with not only the fans of the club, but with Bradford boss, Colin Todd, as well. The 25-year-old, along with national goalkeeper, Donovan Ricketts, signed a two-year contract in November, but may still be on his way out of the cash-strapped club if the right offer comes along.

Key player

"At the moment, he's a key player for us," Todd said. "One of the reasons I brought him in is that he has ability and he is going to attract a lot of attention," he told the Telegraph and Argus.

"At this club, it's fair to say that if any offers come in, and they are the right offers, then they have to be taken. But I am not saying anything is going to happen," he added.

A number of clubs have shown an interest in the Reggae Boy, but Stoke City, which recently signed Jamaican international Ricardo Fuller, seem to be the front runners as far as that goes. However, the bids coming in so far have not been the right price and Bradford chairman, Julian Rhodes, admitted that he had already turned down a £250,000 offer from a champion-ship club for the winger.

"We value 'JJ' higher than that," Rhodes said on the club's official website.

The club, desperately searching for a high quality left winger, is now also looking to bring in Jamaican midfielder, Omar Daley, from USL first division club, Charleston Battery. Daley, who plays on either the right or left side of midfield, is expected to be signed this week subject to the approval of his work permit.
