By their fruit you shall know them!
published: Sunday | January 14, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Those of us who listened to the midday news on RJR 94FM on New Year's Day and heard the Prime Minister in her New Year's message referring to 'a proverb' which says 'a house divided against itself cannot stand' ought to be outraged.

As a Christian, let me hasten to set the record straight for the Prime Minister, the speech writer and the nation. The words are taken from the Holy Scripture and are found in Mark 3:25.

John Locke in his teachings reminds us that we cannot just pick God out of a hat which is what Mrs. Simpson Miller seemed to have done during her presidential campaign. Scripture also reminds us in Galatians 6:7. "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked for whatever a man sows that he will also reap".

To be honest I was not taken in by Mrs Simpson Miller's piety, because the scripture warns about the false prophets who will come to us in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

May I take this opportunity to wish this nation a very blessed year and to exhort us not to lose heart. God is working His purpose out and in His time peace and tranquility will be restored to this country.

I am, etc.,
