Confident Tivoli face Molynes in semis
published: Tuesday | January 30, 2007

Robert Bailey, Freelance Writer

Molynes United 'A' will face Tivoli 'B' in today's opening semi-final game of the Jamaica Netball Association/Jamaica National Open League Consolation knockout competition starting at 5:45 p.m.

In other semi-final, Alexander Strikers will oppose Police 'A' at 6:40 p.m.

In Saturday's quarter-final matches, Tivoli defeated Ebony Strikers 31-14, Alexander Strikers shot past Central Links 26-20, Police 'A' beat Skibo 'A' 36-20 and Molynes United 'A' eased past Police 'B' 28-22.

Slyvester Campbell, coach Tivoli 'B', said he his very confident going into today's game.

"I am confident. If the girls execute and do what is required of them because every game they have been playing better and better so I don't see them not doing it."

Campbell added: "I have been looking at the Molynes United team and they seem quite strong in attack and if a team is strong in attack this means that they will do things. This game is going to be a very attacking game and so if we keep that ball, we will able to stay in the game and force them to turn it over. We have to put in some serious defending and come up with some interceptions and then convert them."

EXPECTING TOUGH GAME

Roy Price, coach of Moylnes, said he is expecting a tough game from his opponents.

"I am going into today's game to play some good and competitive netball game against a well-trained Tivoli team. But I know that Tivoli is a very good team because any team that went to the Super League semi-finals last year must be a good team."

Price continued: "They have a very good coach, they have some good players, they play hard and they play very competitive but in order for my team to come out being successful, we've go out there and try to beat them at their own game."
