Dunoon, Jonathan Grant in 'A' League final

Dunoon Technical and Jonathan Grant will contest the First Global-sponsored A League schoolboy cricket final at a date and venue to be announced.

Both teams, Dunoon and Jonathan Grant, advanced to the final, the Corporate Area's second division for Under-19 players, after beating Jose Martí by three wickets and Ardenne by an innings and 12 runs respectively.

At Jose Marti: Hanif Palmer took seven wickets to lead Dunoon's charge.

Palmer took 3-24 in Jose Martí's first innings of 198 and returned to pick up 4-28 in their second innings total of 85.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Glen Wellington was the backbone of Jose Martí's first innings total, scoring an impressive 110.

With their turn at bat, Dunoon, despite a fighting 49 from Shevughn Latham, were dismissed for 127. Sheldon Blake took 4-19.

Set 154 to win, Dunoon achieved their target of 155-7. Richard Allen led the way with 39, while Latham chipped in with 37. Carvel Stewart picked up 3-41.

At Ardenne Road: Domain Wright and Marlon Henry shared nine wickets to lead Jonathan Grant to victory. Wright took 5-18 and Henry 4-42 to help dismiss Ardenne, who scored 123 in their first innings, for 124.

Jonathan Grant scored 259.
