Teacher to answer to carnal abuse charges
published: Thursday | March 1, 2007

A 39-YEAR-OLD high school teacher will return to the Yallahs Courthouse in St. Thomas on May 2 to answer to a charge of carnal abuse.

Cpl. Georgette Aitken, the Constabulary Communication Network's liaison officer for St. Thomas, said the teacher, Vincent Gray, was arrested and charged on Tuesday when he turned himself in to the Morant Bay police.

Gray, who represents St. Thomas in the national cricket league, allegedly had sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Yesterday, Resident Magistrate Carol DaCosta said Gray should be remanded until his case is called up in two months.
