NEW YORK (Reuters):THE PHOENIX Suns roared from behind to defeat the Dallas Mavericks 129-127 in double overtime on Wednesday night, putting an end to the Mavs' 23-game home winning streak.
Amare Stoudemire scored 41 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Suns, but it was the fourth-quarter play of Steve Nash that kept Phoenix in contention.
Nash scored 10 points in the final 57 seconds of regulation and forced overtime with a three-pointer with two seconds remaining.
He finished with 32 points and 16 assists as Phoenix won their sixth straight and moved within two games of Dallas for the Western Conference lead.
Jerry Stackhouse led Dallas with 33 points. Dirk Nowitzki had 30 points and 16 rebounds but he missed missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.
Jason Terry, whose three-pointer sent the game into a second overtime, added 27 for the Mavericks.
Phoenix were down 16 points early in the fourth quarter and trailed 108-101 when Nash went on his scoring streak.
