Great fun, splendid food and good friends made former banker Lanville 'Sankey' Henry's birthday party a day to remember.
Sumfest's Johnny Gourzong, Pier 1's Robert Russell and Shields Hardware's Rocky Shields made the journey from Montego Bay and Mandeville, respectively, to the St. Mary coastline to celebrate with Sankey.
Eruption Disco kept momentum going with a string of hit songs from '80s dance music to soca, reggae and dancehall that had friends at Salla's Place in Robin's Bay showing off their dance moves.
Ocean backdrop
With the ocean as the backdrop, the party got into gear around 4:00 p.m., and early party-goers enjoyed the scenic view while nibbling Easton 'Salla' Swaby's curried crab and other delectable seafood cuisine, and the ever-popular curried goat and white rice.
The sound of the waves hitting against the rocks faded into the background as laughter took over and music filled the air.
Bright colours were the order of the day and most women were clad in bright pinks, blues, oranges and reds. But the men were not to be outdone as they, too, wore bold colours, including neon green and peach.
It was a family affair, too, as Henry was joined by his father Aubrey and daughter Resha. Sister Nola and her husband Clifton, nieces and other relatives flew in from Toronto for the occasion.
Others who celebrated with Henry included Michael Muirhead, Peat Collington, Courtney Walsh, Louis and Herma Spence, Robert and Bev Russell, Moira Delisser, Rocky and Judy Shields, Maxie Bell, Maleck and Sheena Azan, Raymond and Jacqui Donaldson, Winston and Dr. Audia Barnett, Dr. Errol Duncan, Professor Franky Bennett, Peter Gregory, Paula Finzi-Smith, Lawson and Charmion Gammon, Monty Tavares, Desmond Hutchinson and Cheryl Strachan, Ada Jarrett, Linda Leslie, Trevor and Claudine Heaven, Lorna Cheong, Leroy Bucknor, Jeff Cobbham, Paul Stewart, Louis Spence, Lowell Spence, Peter Jennings, Karen Young, Courtney Wilson, Donny Bunting and Dr. Dennis Pyne.
